Public-Private Key Pair

Bitcoins are stored in Bitcoin addresses until the owner of the address removes them. Bitcoin addresses have two parts, the public part and the private part. The Bitcoin address is the public part of the public-private key pair. The private key is used to create a digital signature, which is used by the owner of the Bitcoin to sign transactions that are sent to the network.
